Blyss Young, LM

Blyss Young, LM, CPM, is a dedicated home birth midwife, childbirth educator, placenta encapsulator, and natural birth and family consultant. With a career spanning decades, she has been at the forefront of natural birth advocacy, education, and holistic maternity care in the USA.

Blyss co-founded The Sanctuary Birth & Family Wellness Center, the first-of-its-kind collaborative birth center in Los Angeles, where midwives, doctors, and holistic practitioners worked together to support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. After nearly a decade of serving thousands of families and learning from renowned experts like Suzanne Arms, she transitioned to a more intimate midwifery practice, studying under Dr. Stuart Fischbein, (Los Angeles's only home birth obstetrician) and other experienced midwives to gain expertise in supporting Breech, Twin, and VBAC births.

Committed to preserving the sacredness of birth, Blyss founded The Bridge Midwives, a project aimed at closing the gap between traditional midwifery wisdom and modern maternity care. Recognizing the increasing reliance on technology and external testing, Blyss seeks to reconnect parents with the innate wisdom of their bodies while providing a bridge between the midwives of past generations and those stepping into the field today. Through this initiative, she offers mentorship, education, and advocacy to strengthen the midwifery model of care. At the heart of her work is a deep belief in the power of birth as a rite of passage and the importance of resurrecting lost traditions to bring connection and autonomy back into the birthing experience.
